Environmental Health Supervisor II

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SUPERVISOR II
ON-SITE PROGRAM

POSITION NUMBER: 535-56-661

Currently offering $5,000 Sign On Bonus, Must meet requirements


SALARY GRADE: 73
SALARY RANGE: Salary can pay up to $64,998
LOCATION: Rutherford (However, may be required to work in McDowell and/or Polk Counties)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
• Direct supervision of the Environmental Health Specialists (On-site) for the three-county district.
• Responsibilities are divided between the time in the office and in the field and will require travel from county to county within the district.
• Position will serve as a field inspection representative for Environmental Health work in the practical enforcement of NC Statues and Rules of the Rutherford-Polk-McDowell District Health Department.
• Performs work in a comprehensive environmental health program including evaluation and inspections and permitting of, on-site sewage disposal systems, private water supplies and other related programs.
• Provides well head inspections and water samples at private residents.
• Investigates a variety of complaints.
• Set long-term programmatic or operational goals and provide the necessary organization and support resources to accomplish these goals with established State guidelines.
• Other duties as defined in job description.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with 30 semesters of course work in the physical or biological sciences and two years of exposure in environmental health; or a four-year or Master's degree in environmental health from a program which is accredited by the National Accreditation Council for Environmental Health Curricula of the National Environmental Health Association and one year of experience in environmental health.

Necessary Special Qualification: Approval for registration as a Sanitarian or registration as a Sanitarian by the North Carolina Board of Sanitarian Examiners prior to employment.
